Assisting Ministers Forced into Relocation by G-6 changes

I have a concern for pastors who, through no fault of their own, must relocate quickly due to a congregational decision to withdraw from the PCUSA. Is there a way for us to expedite their search process? Thoughts?

Alan Thames in Whitewater Valley has recently had experience with a pastor's church going to the EPC but two of the pastors remaining with the denomination. I hope he will chime in on this conversation and share what he's learned. These were not "quick" departures but still . . . .

A month ago, I - only partly tongue-in-cheek - asked Gradye if Louisville was going to have money to help ministers in this bind (which may wind up including some of us). He didn't bite.

I would hope that our sisters and brothers in AEPS will bend over backwards to try to help folks who get caught in this meat grinder. Why couldn't we post their PIFs on this site?

Western Reserve created guidelines when we lost the Bay congregation a few years ago requiring a one year severance package if they chose to remain in the PCUSA. We had one pastor who stayed and worked out the agreement with COM approval and a legal document signed by all parties. He had seen the change coming and was in a counselling training program which he finished up during the year of severance pay.
